Zest - The Library Cafe - Hobart

I have eaten here before and had a positive experience but this time the place seemed tired and dated and not so clean. I ordered a caramel slice with coffee and it was stale and stodgy.

Central location in the State Library building (known by the ridiculous name of LINC, in case you have trouble finding it!) The guv'nor is nearly always on hand to welcome you, the coffee is good, as is the food, and the atmosphere is, to coin a phrase, classy zappy.

The man here made me feel very welcome. He was friendly and helpful. I had a breakfast panini that was fine . I needed a quick breakfast and that's what I got.

This place is generally bustling with people, some office workers, others book worms. The menu is varied and interesting offering a variety of yummy lunches and snacks. Their melting moments bikkies in jars at the front counter are mouth-wateringly good. Try one.

Light bright decor, consistently great cafe food, great coffee and friendly service. Great spot for lunch with friends or after school milkshake with the kids.
