Contribuiți la feedbackIf you want a decent feed of fish and chips, we highly recommend Flippers. The service was efficient, fast and friendly. Despite the fact that it was a super busy summers night, we received our order in a very timely manner. The fish was fresh and the chips were perfectly cooked. We sat not far from the water, watched the harbour, and even had left over chips to feed the seagull families around us!
If you want fish and chips we can recommend Flippers. its not cheap,, but its reasonable.. We can recommend the crumbed Blue Grenadier. We also had potato cakes or potato scallops as we call them in NSW. Large and good value.. lots of chips so be careful how you order. They have little extras like sauces and salads.. we didn't have them but they are available along with a range of soft drinks. I am still amased T.A that people with gastro problems buy food they clearly should not eat and then blame the restaurant and bag the place on here.. come on TA.. where the monitor. This wont get through.
Our last night with family in Tassie and decided to have take a way. The battered fish was the best. Nice and crispy. Made better with the wedge of lemon. Chips good and serve was generous. Well set up and patrons can add their own salt and vinegar etc. staff friendly and efficient. We finished the meal with a serve of Tassies own Valhalla ice cream which we could buy nearby. All of 32 flavours to choose from. Just remember to rug up in the middle of winter.
This place should be called flippen as it is flippen great. Best fish and chips we've had in a long time!Crumbed fish is fantastic, as are the thick crunchy chips, the lovely coleslaw and the potato scallops. Service was great and they are very busy. This is the place the locals recommend.Tip- ring your order up and they will give you a time to come and pick it up. They can get very busy and if it's a cold night, it's better to have a drink in a bar nearby than stand out in the cold. We did this and were told to come at 7pm which we did and it was ready bang on time.Would definitely return when we come back to Hobart.
This seemed like the touristy place to go down at the wharf and the line was long and the wait not too long but the food I didn't enjoy with my gentle stomach, to greasy and all I had was some calamari rings and a potato cake which I couldn't eat all of either.Would have been good if they had some smaller options to choose from as I knew I wouldn't be able to eat it all but in the end although I threw half my meal in the bin, everyone around me was licking their fingers and loving it so don't let this review put you off but if you have a sensitive stomach maybe don't order a lot of deep fried items like I did!
