Drysdale TAFE - Hobart

Went yesterday for lunch. Bread and Tasmanian virgin olive oil came with the bubbles. My entrée was sashimi (local fresh fish), vegetable pickles, fresh wasabi. My second course was ocean trout with crab. Side dishes were potatoes and fresh greens. We shared the panacotta. All courses were delicious. Presentation and service excellent. We had Josef Chromy Relbia bubbles and a Glenayr Cab and Ghost Rock Chardonay to accompany our main course. To finish it off we had a double shot expresso. You can now have two courses for $29. Drysdale is now open for dinner on Thursday nights. Friday after work they have drinks and tapas. Once word gets out bookings would be advisable.

The menu choice is always interesting and food preparation exemplary. Students under expert guidance prepare, cook and serve high quality food. No other restaurant has maintained consistent quality over so many years. Luncheon on three days a week only, booking essential. Happy hour early Friday evenings.

This is a great place to stop for a meal with everything you would expect in a restaurant. The food is great and while it is a teaching restaurant service was great.

This is a trade school so it's run by students (Students In Training). There can sometime be a wait but it's always an interesting menu with a good wine list and ridiculously low prices. Just remember, you're helping the students in their future endeavours in hospitality.

Don't forget this is a training college for the hospitality industry so therefore service may be a little slower than normal but the experience and the food is fabulous. Fantastic wine selection showcasing many of Tassie's finest. Choice of three entrees, main and desert. Mains $15 and entrees $9. Presentation and taste excellent. Open Wednesday, Thursday and Friday but not during school holidays. Bookings recommended. Menu is changed every fortnight.
