The Sycamore Inn - High Peak

We booked a two-night bed and breakfast stay at the Sycamore Inn. At first glance from the outside, it seemed like the inn could use some maintenance. However, once we stepped inside, we were pleasantly surprised to find that the interior was beautifully decorated. Our room was spacious with a king-size bed, an en-suite bathroom with a bath and shower, and all the necessary amenities like tea and coffee facilities, a hairdryer, and a TV. The room was clean and cozy. The breakfast options were plentiful and of good quality, including fruits, cereals, juices, toast, and a full English breakfast. There was also an abundance of tea and coffee available. We had booked dinner for both nights in advance and were not disappointed. The dinner menu was diverse and the meals were excellently cooked and well-presented. The staff were attentive and went out of their way to ensure our stay was enjoyable. Special thanks to Letishia for her outstanding service as front of house, and to Nicolas for accommodating our requests. Thank you for a superb experience!

The Sunday roast was excellent, with faultless food. The portions of syrup sponge with custard and apple crumble with custard were generous and beautifully prepared. The gravy was delicious and the staff happily provided more when requested. Although the pub's exterior may not be inviting, the interior was lovely and the staff were friendly and welcoming.

After reading all the positive reviews, I was excited to stay at this restaurant. We arrived after 3pm, as check-in is at 4pm, which is later than most places we visit. Initially, the first impressions were not impressive, but the friendly greeting from a young lady at the entrance made up for that. We were promptly shown to our room (room 1). The room, situated below the kitchen, was satisfactory, but the barn door on the bathroom was noisy and slightly annoying during the night. Overall, the pub/hotel appeared tired and in need of refurbishment. We dined in the restaurant in the evening and enjoyed a lovely atmosphere and delicious food. It's difficult to review this place because while the overall experience was positive, it did not quite live up to the reviews.

We’ve stayed at the Sycamore a few times and have so say it’s so lovely and we are always made welcome, the rooms are nicely decorated and furnished, nice comfy bed for a great nights sleep, fabulous coffee in the morning, exceptionally good quality tea and coffee! The food here is delicious and i can definitely recommend an evening meal here, after a days hiking you’ll need a good meal!, I would definitely recommend the breakfast.. I think it’s the best breakfast we’ve ever had!! Darren and Sammy and their staff really do make sure you have a very comfortable stay, with exceptional quality and variety of food and drinks, Lovely cosy comfy pub, we will definitely be back.

What a nice place great venue came here for a family meal great wholesome food and great service very friendly. We were there on a grim rainy day however we all commented that it looked great for a sunny day
