Attention truckers: avoid the showers here at all costs. It was the worst shower experience I've ever had. There was a strong mildew odor, water flooded the entire floor, the water temperature fluctuated drastically, there was no soap in the shower stall, and the fan was broken. To top it off, you can't even use your Pilot shower credits. I will definitely not return, not even for their overpriced $42 sliced beef sandwich.

This place has majorly gone down hill since being converted to a pilot. Don't even bother with a shower here. Both are in terrible condition and management blames it on the property owners. It's been like that for a very long time now. Whoever now owns this is not interested in keeping up with the maintenance. Wouldn't be surprised to see this place close down. It used to be a favorite for me. No longer

Driving past and needed to pull over and rest a little bit... I was so excited to find Texas Best Smokehouse at the Shell station! I've been to one in East Texas and I'll just tell you right now, wherever I find one, I'm stopping for their brisket! It was about 12 bucks to get a half pound brisket sandwich. You can get sides too but I chose not to this time. They've got wonderful stuff everywhere! Cowboy hats, Mexican blankets, various types of fudge, Cinnabons, stuffy- stuff everywhere! And outside they have some wood benches and swings and things! Oh my goodness! If you haven't been here you need to come!

My husband and I walked a short distance to place our order, and within less than a minute, we heard the same disrespectful employee yelling at another customer in an even louder and more aggressive tone. The other customers had done nothing to provoke him; they simply walked away after being treated so poorly. I didn’t catch his name, but he was a stocky African American man who seemed to genuinely dislike his job and life in general. If I were the owner of this establishment, I would never employ someone like him. In just two minutes, he caused two potential customers to leave without even trying the food, all because of his negative demeanor. Employees with that kind of attitude have no place in the service industry. He yelled at and disrespected people for no reason, and experiences like this ultimately lead customers to choose other restaurants. We ended up going to Dairy Queen instead, where we were treated with respect and courtesy.

This BBQ spot is fantastic! We’ve visited a few times during our travels. However, it would be great if the staff could appear a bit more cheerful. We had to ask for our bread, and the brisket had an excessive amount of fat—almost half of my portion was fat. The ribs were also served cold. These issues might be avoided if the employees took more pride in what they were serving. I understand that work can be tough, but that shouldn't affect the customers. Despite this, the BBQ is really delicious! Additionally, the store is amazing with unique Texas souvenirs that you won't find anywhere else. I truly love this place!
