Carvel Express - Hartford

The ice cream was as expected. The female worker was cheerful but the man had zero charm.

Going to get ice cream is supposed to be a fun treat. Carvel ice cream is delicious, but the owner has zero personality and is not friendly or welcoming. Very stingy with the portions and overall just unwelcoming. Not a fun experience.

This location had only 3 flavors of soft serve (the one in Naugatuck has 6). There were also no waffle cones. Other than the limitations on options, the soft serve strawberry was pretty good. Would have given more stars if there were any type of waffle cone available.

This Carvel is tucked in the strip mall at the corner of Main Street and Griswold Street/Glastonbury Blvd. It is clean and they do a good job with the flavors. It is better ice cream than the new DQ that's just a few hundred feet to the south where Boston Market used to be.

Friendly staff, delicious soft serve. Would definitely recommend if you are in the mood for some ice cream treats!
