I have been dining at this restaurant my entire life, as I remember enjoying this food as a child and now I am nearly 20 years old. My favorite food places always seem to close down, usually small Chinese family-run businesses or Cajun grill places in malls. When I was younger, my mom used to chat in Mandarin with the lady at a Cajun grill place in Hawthorn Mall for hours, but unfortunately it closed years ago. This place brings back the memories of that kind of food and those nostalgic moments. The owners are very welcoming and friendly, always understanding what you want even if you just point or say something like "the red chicken." They give you a generous amount of food, and I love it. The leftovers are also great, unlike places like Panda Express or McDonald's. You can easily reheat your noodles or rice in the microwave and then pan fry the meat until it's crispy again. For just $14, you can have two amazing meals if you get double meat. Don't forget to tip, because these people are truly amazing. <333333333!!

One of my favorite restaurants, Kelly’s Cajun Grill, recently had a concerning incident that resulted in me finding half of a toothpick in their meat. This discovery has put me off from ever dining there again. Despite enjoying their food in the past, the thought of encountering such a foreign object in my meal has left a lasting impact. When I reached out to the Lake County Health Department for assistance, they were unable to take any action to rectify the situation. It seems that the staff at Kelly’s Cajun Grill use toothpicks to offer samples to customers, but fail to properly inspect the meat for any remnants of the toothpick. This lack of attention to detail and potential hazards could have serious consequences, including choking or internal injuries if the toothpick is accidentally ingested. The health department’s response to my complaint was disappointing, as they did not seem to grasp the severity of the issue at hand. Moving forward, I hope that the restaurant will take necessary precautions to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
