The breakfast in Costa Rica is quite simple. It typically consists of gallo pinto (rice and beans) with some tortilla and maduro (sweet plantain). The key to making this dish delicious is an art, and I have found that smaller restaurants tend to do a better job at preparing a tasty gallo pinto compared to larger establishments. If they do not do a good job with the gallo pinto, the rest of the meal tends to be lackluster as well. Some places in Costa Rica rely on their reputation but may compromise on quality, and I fear that this is the case with this particular restaurant. While it used to be a good spot, now it seems like just another big restaurant serving average food at a high price. I would prefer to have my breakfast elsewhere.
The breakfast was satisfying overall, with decent coffee and menu options. The gallo pinto, however, was not up to par, hence the 3-star rating.
This restaurant is Costa Rican, but it didn't leave a strong impression. The prices were reasonable for the quality of food. The service was quick and efficient, but lacking in attentiveness. Overall, it's not bad and you won't be disappointed.
Large coffee and breakfast options. children also loved it. fresh roasted coffee is the best
