Derbystube - Grindelwald

We walked around Grindelwald for ages trying to find a traditional Swiss restaurant and were amazed at how many “tourist traps” there are serving suv standard food. I eventually googled the type of food we were looking for and found an amazing review for Alpen Macaroni “, so made our way to the restaurant and we weren’t disappointed! The Alpen Macaroni was delicious and freshly made and exactly what we felt like eating on a rather rainy dull October day

Really tasty food and big portions. There is also separate special fondue menu. Good prices and friendly staff. There are many places to sit, also there is outside seating option.

The food was dull didn’t felt any spark with the taste. The restaurant was full of flies. And last but not least The waiter was rude: we asked for the bill and shortly after we decided to order a dessert to take away , to which the waiter reacted extremely rude to the point we decided to leave right away. The waiter said only dessert was ice cream to take away but this was bs we saw the menu before with plenty options . Just a lazy and rude employee.

Had the carving with pig in a very nice creamy mushroom sauce. I don't eat pork often so the texture was something I wasn't used to, but still good. My daughter had the macaroni and cheese and after her it was excellent. Could be a tourist trap, but still good and close to the train station.

Puff pastries with mushrooms, lentil soup, Bratbeef and Latte Macchiato. The puff pastry is delicious, roast beef and soup were pretty good. Service was also good.
