The staff spoke English and were kind and helpful. If you're plan on having food, sit inside or at the tables alongside the restaurant. The other tables further out in the square are for if you are just having drinks.
Sunday night dinner. Had steak with egg and rice and fries. The steak was ok, the fries were good and the rice was cold. BTW, glad I ordered half portion, which is an option. This was plenty. So, the food is fine. The service was terrible. Waiter appeared put upon that people had shown up. Took surliness to nuclear level. Watched a person evidently complain about the cleanliness of her fork. The waiter eyeballed the fork, rolled his eyes and handed a fork from setting on nearby (empty) table. But that still doesn't warrant the two stars. What thru me over the edge were the incessant flies. Just could not enjoy my dinner while trying to keep flies off my food.
Central community café in the old neighborhood. It has kept a good quality both regarding the building maintenance and the restaurant and bar offers. You can go there just for a coffee or a drink or enjoy a cozy meal inside or in the esplanade. Ask for a Toureiro, Golegã 's famous patisserie. You 'll find locals here.
Jammed packed during the Lusitano Fair in November but food still great.
We have love the staff. The food was very good and the deserts awsome!! We will come back for sure next year!!
