I think the only reason we got our dessert in time was because we probably got theirs. the administration offered them no coffee or drink for their waiting period. they have not cappuccino or espresso and they have not offered us after dinner cocktail (for sale). I have starved and disappointed. I would never go back.
When we arrived, we were told that half of the menu was not stored, there was no waitress and no host, only the barkeeper did everything. I was really angry and disappointed by my experience, especially because we are going to eat everywhere, that was the worst service we ever got at any place.
The wait time between courses was too long even though the restaurant only had 3 tables occupied...the wild mushroom soup was chock full of mushrooms but did not have enough drizzle of truffle oil for an umami effect The Korean short rib was excellent and almost falling off the bone but the lobster tail was not served with drawn butter which is its usual accompaniment and we were astonished to see fifty cents added to the bill for a ramekin of butter(tacky). The Filet mignon was overcooked. The Nutella Crepes were served ice cold but the flourless Chocolate cake was very good. Perhaps the problem lies in the fact that the kitchen is on the ground floor while Pratt’s is on the 3rd floor and there is no elevator or “dumb waiter” to service both. Having a small service kitchen on the 3rd floor would eliminate this problem. Pratt’s 3rd floor space is great for after dinner or after party(weddings etc)drinks or espresso but NOT for a fine dining restaurant.
For what I thought was a fancy hotel, this restaurant was surprisingly casual and low key. That's fine. The problem I had was with the service and the food quality many menu items unavailable during dinner, and food arriving burnt in some cases, cold in others. It was one of the worst meals I have ever had.
They ran out of a few things that were not the menu. but otherwise a great experience
