2 Hopewell Bistro - Glastonbury

I had a wonderful dinner with friends at 2 Hopewell last night. It was my first time there, but my friends were regulars. I had looked at the menu beforehand, but ended up going with the specials instead. There are several reasons why I would rate this restaurant 5 stars. The service was top-notch, with our waiter being attentive but not rushing us through our meal. The drinks and food were both excellent, with compliments to the chef and bartender. The ambiance was warm and relaxing, with the added bonus of live music in the tavern where we ate. The space was a bit cozy, but it didn't affect our overall experience. This place gets busy, so definitely make reservations in advance.

I met up with friends for dinner at 2 Hopewell. The atmosphere was cozy, but a bit dark with the blinds closed. We were seated promptly and given the option of specials for the evening, but chose from the regular menu instead. Our group tried a variety of dishes, including the Short Rib (a large portion with a slightly sweet sauce), nicely cooked Scallops (4 small pieces), thick and rare Ahi Tuna, and a classic burger. Most of the entrees were enjoyable, but when we asked our waitress about certain menu items, she was unable to provide information and seemed indifferent. This was disappointing, as we may have chosen differently with more guidance. Overall, the experience was good, but we may not return right away as the menu is somewhat limited.

We had a wonderful bridal shower for our family and friends at this lovely and picturesque restaurant. Everything was excellent! The food, service, and ambiance really made our day special. The server was excellent, but the kitchen was slow and inconsistent. The sea bass was outstanding, but the Cioppino was missing ingredients, including lobster. The restaurant was very dark, with only one candle per table for four, making it difficult to see our food. It was also very loud, with no soft materials to absorb the noise. Overall, we will not be returning.
