I had pumpkin tortellini with tomato and sage, I couldn't taste a sage, but it was still tasty. I don't think it was worth £14, as they only got 5 or 6 pieces tortellini with 4 quarters of kirsch tomaten and a little butter sauce and the riders had to buy separately. the staff was very attentive and the place was clean.
My wife and I with 2 other couples booked a table to lunch, starting from the first class of the staff, the meal was great. the attentiveness of the manager julian was excellent, as I often did not surprise this place congratulations for all and thank them again for the attention we afford.
There seems to be a check sheet for opening a restaurant these days, one which The Anchor Line may have looked at. 1. Restore a landmark city centre building check. 2. Prepare good quality food Yup. 3. Welcoming, relaxed atmosphere yes indeed. 4. Overpriced little portions of pretentious food erm nope
I was searching for a nice fine dining restaurant during my time in Glasgow and dropped in here. Very nice place with amazing seafood and service! That halibut main dish is to die for!! Every component on our dishes were to the 5* quality. However, i taking a star off (wanted to take half off but cant), because it was very noisy as an atmosphere and had difficulties talking with my partner. The bar is right next door an the music was way too loud in the restaurant. When I pay for fine dining dinner i dont expect to hear the music louder than my partner next to me.
Restaurant was booked for 5:30pm on a Saturday, was very busy and people were getting turned away at the door due to being at capacity and not having a reservation. Would advise booking ahead. Despite how busy it was the overall atmosphere and mood was relaxed within. Fillet steak topped with Pressed black pudding ham hough, skinny fries, peppercorn sauce and cherry tomatoes. I felt the plate looked a bit underwhelming and could have been accompanied with some more veg or onion rings/loaf or a smaller plate, despite the disappointment with presentation the meal tasted fantastic. Pricey but not more than you would expect in the city centre. Toilets located downstairs and a bit of an adventure to get there. Recommended
