There were 4 of us and three enjoyed their meal a lot. Mine was the vegan option of butternut squash and chestnut stew with rice and crispy kale. It was very unpleasant. The stew was served in a small bowl and seemed to have been reheated many times or left under a heated canopy for a long time. Despite that it was warm rather than hot. It was dried out and tasteless. There was a huge mound of plain boiled rice which added nothing but bulk to the dish. The ‘crispy’ kale was unseasoned and very oily. I ate about 1/3 of the dish, only because I was very hungry. I will not return

Festive menu, good choice, excellent value for money and as usual polite, efficient service and great atmosphere.

Booked in last minute for a Sunday roast. We were not disappointed. Had salt and pepper chicken starter, cooked in light crumbed batter, chicken was succulent and tasty. Followed up with the Roast Beef, cooked to perfection and followed by Cranach cheesecake, thoroughly enjoyed all my courses. Served by gentleman with a pony tail who was friendly, professional and attentive. Will be back for sure!

AVOID the place if you value your health. I have just has a disgusting experience in Loks. I had the apple crumble dessert and found a coarse hair hidden in my food. Could be a nose or pubic hair for all I know. I was grossed out by the experience as you can imagine wondering whether my main dish had also been contaminated in a similar manner unseen. What took the biscuit though was the dissmissive tone and manner the manager (I 'll use the term loosely here) dealt with my complaint. I was met with a complete lack of professionalism from the man arguing that it could be a arm hair . Really reassuring knowing the amount of pathogens on a person 's skin. I 'll not set foot in the place again and will actively discourage other potential patrons.
