Cranachan - Glasgow City

I went for lunch while out shopping this afternoon and decided to try the roast beef sandwich with Cullen Skink, which was just under £15. My girlfriend opted for the roast beef sandwich with the soup of the day, priced at just under £13. We were shocked when our food arrived and the sandwich only had one slice of bread! I have never experienced a sandwich with only one slice of bread before, especially at such high prices. Additionally, we were seated in the back room despite there being available tables outside, which I assume was because there were only two of us. The food quality was good, but the portion sizes were incredibly small for the price. Unfortunately, we will not be returning to this restaurant.

After completing the great Scottish Run, we decided to visit this restaurant for brunch. Unfortunately, our high spirits were quickly dampened by a less than warm welcome, with the staff informing us that breakfast service was ending in 10 minutes. Despite this, we ordered five breakfasts, coffees, and a bottle of fizz. One of our group required gluten-free bread, which was requested but not initially provided. When the food finally arrived after a long wait, we questioned if the gluten-free bread was indeed gluten-free and were told it was, only to later discover it was not. The solution offered was to simply remove the bread from the plate, which was not satisfactory. After waiting 10 minutes for a replacement, we had to ask again before it was finally brought out and placed next to the now cold breakfast. We requested that the cost of the gluten-free bread be removed from our bill, which was only done after consultation with the manager. While the young server was apologetic and seemed to be covering a large section, the overall experience was simply not acceptable.

I wanted to sample a traditional Scottish dish, so I decided to try Cranachan. A local beer paired perfectly with my fried cod and chips. The food and service were impeccable, and I couldn't have been more satisfied. I noticed the patrons next to me were enjoying a delightful array of savory and sweet treats with their tea. I regret not having enough time to try it, but I will definitely return next time I'm in Glasgow.

This is a lovely restaurant with an outdoor eating area situated on the top floor of the Prince's quay shopping center in Glasgow city centre. I tried the famous Scottish haggis dish here and it was fantastic. The staff are very friendly and go out of the way to ensure you have everything you need to location and setting the view all of fantastic and I fully recommend this beautiful restaurant.

Busy lunchtime, had the burger, highly recommended. Sadly no calorie info on the menus which is pretty poor these days
