Contribuiți la feedbackI will go back here to try their pastries and other drinks! We went in Kapitolyo to eat when my squad decided to go back in Forum. So we walk instead of renting a taxi. While walking, we decided to chill in Starbucks but to our surprise, this cafè is beside Starbucks and Kissako is on my bookmark. We only ordered drinks because we're full.
Kissako, (I'm guessing) is a short cut for the term for cafe which is Kissaten. Ko usually is used for female names or referring to a child or maybe something small. Ergo, a small cafe. It turns out that Kissako is a small cafe by Pioneer Center which delightfully serves Matcha desserts and beverages. The place offers really good Matcha, and the service is just ok. Of course just like in most cafes, it's pretty much self service, so I couldn't say much about it. While the offerings seem commendable, I find it limited, and the place too dim (felt a little bit depressing). Price per head can range from 250 500.
First, we tried their Matcha Parfait (Php195), which is one of their best-selling treats. It had crushed ice, cornflakes, gelatine, and topped with a scoop of matcha ice cream. Overall, we loved how it tasted because it wasn't too sweet unlike Filipino halo-halo. It was also very easy to eat, given that it's served in a tall glass. We had a slice of Matcha Cheesecake (Php170), which was honestly one of the best cakes we've ever tried! At first bite, you notice how easily this cake melts in your mouth and surrounds it with the distinct but not too overpowering taste of matcha. Finally, we had a cup of Matcha Latte (Php150). Unlike the one you can find in the more mainstream coffee shops, their version of the matcha latte is made from the real stuff. They use real matcha powder which comes straight from Japan and they also have it for sale in their shop. The drink was very creamy and the flavor of matcha was not too overpowering, which is perfect when you just want to sit back and relax.
Love the oreo matcha. Not too sweet. Just right.Medium is actually big. Brewed Coffee is also great! Place is quite also. So if you want coffee or tea and quite to read books or do homeworks, this is it. Staff were also nice.
I wanted to try their ramen with green tea noodles, but since the place was packed, I opted to have ramen from another place. I did go for their matcha parfait, which had a variety of sweets like mochi balls, matcha gelatin cake, and my favorite, creamy matcha ice cream! The cornflakes added a nice crunch to the ensemble. Wish everything else was also cold, not just the ice cream.
