They were tasteless, watery and not well cooked served with frozen fries. For 24 euros it is shameful. The service is too casual and long.
We weren't actually at the restaurant but they did the food for a party and the boat stew and potato gratin were amazing, not to mention the mechoui a spit roast lamb!!!
We were in Gex at lunchtime and we were looking for a spot to eat. The choice of restaurants was meager. We studied the menu that was posted outside, asked a local and he said, yes, you can eat well here and he pointed across the street and indicated two other spots if we thought otherwise. Very fair, we thought. We went inside and discovered a lively bar that was full of more locals. The tables in the dining area behind the bar were inviting, the decor quite nice, the menu a bit limited and the man we talked with outside turned out to be our very personable waiter! Don 't underestimate a recommendation from the locals. The rule of thumb is usually eat where the locals eat . Or: When in Rome, do as the Romans do . In this case, the French. NB: The restaurant filled up quickly. We all enjoyed good plain cooking in an uncomplicated atmosphere.
Excellent lunch, simple and pleasant in a deliciously retro setting
We ate a good savoyard fondue. Then a good coffee. Taste the wines of the region. a dedicated staff, and not radine on advice, culinary and outdoors.
