Contribuiți la feedbackThis is a cool place for a beer with friends if you are not in a hurry: service is very slow... You have a nice terrace but try to find a place far from the dirty and loud street Rue des Deux-Ponts aside! You can also smoke shisha when you are upstairs.
I have to say it was a nice, relaxed bar. They make a tapas plate that was beautiful when a little limited in choice, but the whole atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. Great service.
Last weekend I went to L'Ethno Bar for a private party. My friend ordered the beef tapas and while I had the Calamari. I noticed something red in her plate, but thought it was a tomato. During further inspection I found that it was not tomatoes, but actually a PLASTIC KETCHUP TOP. I took the plate to the bartender. He said nothing, turned to speak to the cook, and turned back to me, just to say that it would be replaced. I stayed in the bar and complained to my friend about how disappointing I found it. The same bartender came back to confront me. He yelled at me and said he had replaced the court and there was nothing else to do. When I asked (to sell at this point, I will admit that the least he could have done offered an excuse, he insisted that he had. At this point another bartender had joined, not to settle the situation, but to join his colleague to attack me. He went on to dismiss me and essentially said stop talking and go back to your table before I say something regrettable. Intimated and shocked (we were two young women) we left it. I really regret not talking to the manager. I was treated like NIE in a bar/restaurant and will never give them my business again. I actually felt threatened. Even the food wasn't very good.
Good service and nice setting. The river may however be a bit smelly at times. The inside of the pub is no bad either.
Since moving from its old address on Rue Bovy-Lysberg, Ethno has changed more than its neighbourhood. The bar service is better, the decor new and improved and the ambiance is much more inviting. In the summer there is plenty of outdoor seating, and its location next to the river makes it a great choice after a dip in the Rhône (not for the faint of heart! . In the winter, the ample choice of comfortable indoor seating makes Ethno a great choice for gatherings of larger groups. The reservations and bar staff are friendly and helpful.
