Bardøla Høyfjellshotell - Geilo

We had a pleasant stay at the hotel. the room was equipped with everything: refrigerator, kettle, toaster, kitchen (stove, sink, oven and all necessary utensils).

We didn't stay here, but ate here for NYE the food was exquisite and the provision of a burger/pizza/sausage/pudding buffet for the kids took any stress out of going out for a nice meal. The staff were great, and in my opinion, it was very reasonably priced. I will definitely eat here again if we come back to Geilo, and will investigate a stay at the hotel, too :

Big and nice rooms but they need an upgrade. Nice bar, but difficult to understand the bartender. Breakfast was not the best. Starts at 7 but are not complete until 8:30 all meat contains pork even the creamed cheese was with bacon. Nothing is labelled with allergens or what it is. Staff in the reception is nice

The hotel is very nice. The rooms are nice and well equipped. There are some ski huts for winter season skiers. It is near some good skiing places. The Staff are great. The only disturbing thing is that the dining room have rules like no water bottles into the dining room. Guest must sit in the pre-assigned area.Beside those annoying rules, the buffets are excellent.

A big disappointment. On our stay on August 4, 2023 we were given room number 202 with a window with a horrible view to a wall and a dirty black tarpaulin floor Very small bathroom smelt of sewage totally unbecoming of a 4 room hotel stars. At the reception we requested a room change that they denied us, despite the fact that there were other free rooms in the hotel, claiming that they gave us what we had paid for. To this I replied that we expected a room according to the category of a 4-star hotel and that no image of the type of room such as 202 appeared on the hotel website, otherwise we would have asked for another room or chosen another hotel for our stay in Geilo. We received no response to this argument. In short, as customers we have had a great disappointment and a negative experience.
