I feel fortunate to have my roots on the west side, as Geelong is one of my favorite getaway destinations in regional Victoria, just a short drive from home. Recently, we took a quick trip down for some sightseeing and a delightful dining experience at the acclaimed Tulip Bar Restaurant. The dishes were impressive, featuring well-balanced flavors and textures that left a lasting impression. A perfect example was the goat cheese and beetroot; while I’m usually not a fan of either, they came together beautifully and truly thrilled my taste buds.

If you want to try fine dining, this is the place in Geelong. I have been here twice and was welcomed both times by their warm service. Both times I went for their ‘waves’ pre set menu. And both times they were happy to include something in the pre set menu that we would like to try. Service is genuine and they don’t push to over sell. Had excellent time.

We had dinner for 12 people and everything was delicious. The wine list is long and the waitress was pretty new but she did her best to help us finding the right wines for the food. We had a great time and loved to see the chef happy In that kitchen.
