Houston Avenue Bar & Grill - Gatineau

The restaurant looks great and the food was decent . The service was awful . I went in today with my 2 daughters . There were many waitresses there and only 5-6 tables worth of people . We never had a drink refill (the busboy went for us once after 15-20 mins of waiting with the empties onto the side of the table as a hint .Food wise my daughter took the kids meal tortellini and the sauce was just dry (no sauce) it looked like microwaved leftovers .My other daughter took the poutine with meat (adult menu) . It was passable . Sauce was very sweet to her liking .I ordered fajitas . They give very little amount of wraps for the steak you get (i figured i can just ask for more later) , which also took so oong that another waitress came and gave me some after another 15 mins wait for just that (without any of the usual “are you guys okay” from the waitress) ran put of cheese also but at this point everyone just wanted to leave . The table behind me had the same issues .Im not the karen usually but with so little people , I would have expected good service . I live next door and go out frequently . Unfortunately i think this will be my last visit to this establishment . Its too bad because its a nice spot and has nice decos and theme to my liking .

After arriving on time for our reservation, to celebrate 55th birthday, we were somewhat surprised by a rather underwhelming service.40 min after arriving I had to call for a Manger to ask when will someone be courteous enough to get off their phone to take an order... as servers were rather concentrating on their mobile devices then guests.Lobster tails, were about 7cm long and looked more like a shrimp.... on top of it they were served raw...A rather disappointing experience!

We come here often. The food is fantastic, but very slow and poor service. Slow to the point we sometimes wonder if they forgot our order. Been here at different times of day and the restaurant being busy or not, getting someone to take our order or ordering another drink is a painful experience. We still suggested this place to our group of friends for a birthday party not long ago thinking we may receive better service as a group but we were terribly wrong and a little ashamed we suggested this restaurant.Food is fantastic though, never disappointed there. Better and quicker service and this place would be a 5 star location for sure!

So good. The food was incredible. The inner side of my burger bun was burnt but I still ate it. The waitress was very kind and curteous. I was impressed. Overall great experience.

Came late night and shared some apps and drinks with a friend. Overall, we enjoyed our meal. Nice, big and meaty shrimp!
