Piefalootin - Garland

Although I find Tracy to be passionate delightful, her pies are not my favs. I?ve tried them on at least 3 occasions. I find the pie to crust ratio is lacking. The crusts are way too thin-I love crust. She uses only shortening which is not my preference-I prefer all butter crusts or a combination of the two. Her fillings are generous but the cream pies (choc, coconut, espresso feel thick to the taste a little too sweet. The whipped cream topping is generous perfect! She her staff are always so kind- always taking great care in boxing all the goodies! The shop is so cute too.

27 years. For 27 years I have lived a life devoid of much happiness. Everyday I wake up in a bed that too small, and go to a job that barely pays me enough for the hours of labor I put into it. I get lectured by those around me that are older than me about how I need to grow up, and teased by those younger than me for being an old man now. Everyday I can feel myself slowly drifting into the endless abyss that is this life and this universe. But suddenly, I find myself drawn to a glimmer of hope into the distance. I reach as far as I can, pleading for one last moment to bring me a sliver of joy I can cherish for the remainder I have in this world. I reach and reach until I come to the conclusion, that this universe is endless. It is pie. For the mathematical equation is never ending. Much like the joy I found that sweet Wednesday when I found myself walking into the Piefalootin, as a lost and weary traveler in this journey we call life. When I walked in, I was on a mission to find a baked item for my sisters birthday. I believed I would find a full and monotonous pie shop serving staples such as pecan pie. Instead, I was overwhelmed by the sheer number of choices and intricate details of each pie. Pies from every facet of the fruit kingdom. Pies with fillings from exotic far off lands and decorated as if Ancient Roman sculptures themselves had been hand carved by the staff at piefalootin. After much amazement and critical thinking, I finally decided upon the Banoffee pie. Quickly, I requested for it to be packaged up and I retreated home to prepare for my younger sisters birthday. When the moment came later that night, my entire families eyes gleamed in excitement. The first piece of the pie was bestowed upon my sister, followed the lesser members of my family, until finally, I piece of pie. I took one bite and instantly knew that life was not meaningless for this pie was brilliant. A pie crust topped with ripe bananas, caramel, dulce de leche coffee whipped cream, and finally pecans and more caramel. Every bite I took made me want to take more and more until finally, my slice was gone. For 27 years I lived a life devoid of much happiness. This pie gave me a spark I never knew I could find before. But then, that too was gone?..that is, until I realized half a pie still remained! The spark had turned into a full flame! Happiness is now with me, and maybe, for once, I?ll be able to discover the true meaning to life. This pie was a transcendental experience and I wish for all to experience the endless joy I received in eating this slice of pie.

Owner is very nice. The staff spent a lot of time with us since it was our first time. We got the pie fight which is 3 smaller pieces to taste. It was almost too much us! The pie is beyond delicious. The crust is handmade; toppings and fillings are perfect. Highly recommend!

This pie shop really stands out! First of all, the customer service is fantastic. A gentleman there took the time to explain each pie to me and offered excellent recommendations. I have to mention that the pies taste amazing warmed up with a scoop of ice cream! They have the perfect level of sweetness—not too overwhelming, which can be quite bothersome. It's absolutely delicious! I’m spreading the word to everyone I know.

In short, these are the best pies I've ever tasted. If you live within 50 miles of Garland, you definitely need to visit this place often. The owner offers the most unique flavors that change frequently. The crust is incredible, and any pie topped with espresso cream is out of this world. Don’t miss the Banoffee pie—try them all!
