Ricci is the best Italian restaurant in Frederick! We love Pistarros as well and personally think their pizza is better than Ricci but Ricci’s pasta is outstanding. The homemade pastas I’ve tried have all been phenomenal and the gnocchi is by far the best I’ve ever had! I love the Caprese version of the gnocchi, but the pesto is also excellent. I’ve heard the pizzas are outstanding but when I got it last time it was definitely undercooked so I’ll try it again soon.The management is attentive and involved.The indoor/outdoor bar is super cool!The service is knowledgeable and friendly every time we’ve been in.The atmosphere is very cozy and nice, both indoors and outdoors.My criticism of the restaurant is I wish they had at least one more affordable house wine. All of the other Italian restaurants in Frederick have a good affordable red and white wine where they still have plenty of markup to make a solid profit. My personal belief is when you do this you’re just trying to up your sales but it’s very short sighted. Also on the half-price bottle of wine night, only the high-end wines are included in the promotion. Another sign they are shortsighted on there profits. We came in for the promotion and ended up skipping the wine altogether when we definitely would’ve bought a half-price bottle if they included the less expensive bottles in the promotion. I can tell you exactly what their profit margin is on these wines and I know they are still making a profit offering them at 50% off one day a week.I forgot to take a picture of the food but the appearance is as good as the taste!

Really great food in a modern environment. We ate at the pizza bar, which might be too hot in the summer but was cozy in February! They change the specials every week, so even though I recommend the prosciutto, melon and burrata appetizer, you'd better get there quick or it'll be gone!! My bourbon pork chop was fabulous and cooked perfectly (medium). It came with a salad and side--decent value for money! Can't wait to sit on true patio this summer!Vegetarian options: Lots of veggie options and options that can be ordered as a veggie version!Dietary restrictions: Many clearly marked gluten free and dairy free options
