Altstadt Brewery - Fredericksburg

It's a beautiful, spacious beer garden. The service is excellent, and the staff is very friendly. We enjoyed the roasted meat, which was delicious and crispy, perfectly complemented by the red cabbage. However, the potato salad was lacking in flavor, so I would opt for something different next time. The service was prompt, and the food came out quickly and steaming hot. They also have a great selection of beer.

Absolutely fantastic! I'm a huge fan of architecture, and this place is impressive in size. This was our second visit, and I’m definitely returning. The crab cakes were excellent, and we also tried the pretzel, which was delicious as well. We opted for a flight of lighter beers, and they were all fantastic.

This brewery is really great both inside and out. We enjoyed some traditional German appetizers and entrees, which were quite delicious. The beers were refreshing and served ice-cold. They also have a fridge stocked with beers available for purchase, along with a wall of souvenirs near the entrance. I highly recommend visiting, and don't forget to explore the surroundings!

There is a nice and cozy, cozy lounge downstairs. When you enter, you will see to the left and come down the spiral staircase. Dimly lit ambience with music that creates a perfect environment. We just made beer flights here to try most beers as they are a brewery. I have to say there are no ones I don't like! You have all suites your preference camp, blonde, pale, IPA, stout .. you call it.

We really wanted to like this place based on how beautiful the facility looks from the road, but honestly it was one of the worst experiences we?ve had in the Hill Country to date. Beer although the outdoor beer garden patio has a lot of potential, the beer tastes flat, bleak and watered down. Food this it where it got really bad. My husband ordered the fish and chips which were $16. It came out as 3 small, burnt fish sticks that looked like they could have been straight out of the freezer, over a basket of stale French fries. That?s $5.33 for each frozen fish stick?.need I say more? I got the burger, which was overly salty with a stale bun. The restaurant felt like a Luby?s cafeteria?and for all we know, the food could have come out of the Great Value frozen section. Service we waited almost an hour for a table, then when we were seated, our waitress didn?t even introduce herself to us. We were checked on maybe once, but there was nothing special here. All in all, the atmosphere was severely underwhelming and the food and drinks were extremely disappointing. If you?re looking for a good meal in Fredericksburg on a Saturday night, you won?t find one here. After reading other reviews and experiencing this place first hand, we really don?t understand how there can be so many good reviews?
