Tropical Cafe - Fort Lauderdale

May 10-2022. My husband and I were looking for a nice mother and pop Cuban restaurant for breakfast. This jewel showed up. Read the fact at the end of my note!!! I told my husband something like I wanted. Low key, really not much to the café itself. But we love to find places like these, also help small businesses in this difficult economic period. The cook is the cook and also the waiter. Love his Cuban accent. He's a hard worker. You can look into the kitchen. Bathroom was clean. Café con leche is super strong be very ready for it. This is a place for the locals absolutely. I come back to lunch. Breakfast is also served ALL DAY. Come ready to meet Humberto, who like I said cooks and serve you. Fact:Humberto told me that the plazas in which they are are will be demolished to build apartments. He's been there for 21 years. He was a little sad when he told me. My heart is broken. He'll be there by the end of the year. So. Drive up there when you're in town and give him a try. In his business cards, he has his contact information, so I want to contact him. I hope they'll open somewhere else. Eating is cheap, so give them extra tip. If you've been watching Johnny Deep, the guy is forgiven as he gives his testimony well, Humberto has this kind of character. He's so funny

Since my last visit and happy to report the food is still consistent and great. Always try to get me here every time I get to Fort Lauderdale.

I ate the Cuban sandwich and it was super I recommend you get the hot sauce. The owner is on site cooking and interacting with customers!! It is a cool place and as an OG as it can!!

An all around amazing experience at this location. Customer service was beyond amazing, and the food is DELICIOUS. Surrounding restaurants always run out of empanadas but Tropical cafe had them with no Issues. Highly recommended!

I know this place and the owner for the las 20 years and the food and the attention is always good. Highly recommended....
