Lighthouse Fish and Chips

1The food at this establishment made me severely ill DO NOT EAT THE FOOD from here unless you want to risk having diarrhea and salmonella poisoning.

Bites into my meal I was SICK. The homemade French fires were limp and greasy. I have no idea what was in the cole slaw. I ordered walleye but I'm pretty sure it was whitefish. Fish was greasy and tasteless. I came into this...restaurant based upon the very positive reviews of others. Don't believe the positive reviews--this place is awful and a complete waste of your money. Avoid this place like the plague it is.

Had to stop and try the fish chips, wonderful food. Made you want to come back for more. The place is small but cozy

So, as most people do, I read tripadvisor reviews about The Lighthouse and most of them were positive. I decided that this is what I wanted for my birthday. The order was three piece fish dinners, one of cod the other haddock. I hate...using superlatives but in this case, it is warranted. This was the worst meal I have ever attempted to eat. First off, I got the meal to go. When I got home, this is what I found. The restaurant failed to poke holes in the styrofoam container so my meal was a bath. Other than that, the pieces of fish, particularly the cod, were puny. Definitely not worth the plus tax that I paid. I could have bought the same dinner in the frozen food section at the nearest grocer for half the price, cooked it myself and been way happier. The fries-were definitely cooked, if you could call it that, in old oil. They were thin and stringy and partially cooked. There’s nothing like biting into a raw frie. The tartar sauce was sweet and not well received. The coleslaw was meh. If I could give this meal a zero I would. I would never eat here again nor would I recommend The Lighthouse. Go elsewhere for your fish and chips. The best bet-The Safeway frozen food section.
