Here second time and the suite requested 3 months earlier given to another guest while the same kind of room sat empty across hall. The woman at front desk as rude as the first contact in May. The bed itself smells like some kind of minty medicine. This was even after the bed linens were changed. How can a great place to stay fall so far below excellent in 3 months???? I figured it out rude non caring workers. I will never stay here again with so many options for places to stay. Too pricey to be treated like this.
I have stayed here at least 12 times even with the original owner when it was $400+ per night. My last visit was the worst knowing the layout I had asked for a room away from the lobby no that was impossible ! I was given a 'well worn ' room and bed Next to the lobby. After a long flight from California and at 9pm the Einstein at the desk said my card was declined ? That is impossible and called Visa Chase and the operator said I see it here they put the wrong number in . They have no card reader and can only put the numbers in manually ? ? I returned and the same thing happened called Visa have it right here the number they put in was off my head was gonna explode I called my secretary who called the front desk and read the number to Einstein and finally I had a well worn room. Housekeeping is very very good the breakfast is like a Hotel 6 in Detroit very poor. I hear from a family member there is a good new hotel in West Kittanning I 'll check it out next time. And while the housekeepers were great most of the staff was ignorant including the manager
My daughter recently got married here. Melissa said they would supply ANY color, then later said they couldn't. Was told that the chairs for the outside ceremony space were $4/each. If rain, you still pay for the chairs because their supplier charges that to rent them. The space was opted out of. Melissa later asked why it wasn't wanted, my daughter said because if rain, she still pays for chairs that aren't used. Melissa said she didn't say that. 3 of us heard her say it. In February, daughter emailed Melissa said she decided that she wanted the outside space. 2 weeks before wedding, thr total numbers were sent to Melissa, including of outside chairs needed. She replied that she didn't know that they wanted the outside space. There is a bad communication between the venue, the staff the customer. Everything is done thru emails not personable. Cookies.. we were told to put refrigerator ones on table staff would take care of them. 3 hrs later and multiple requests, they finally took them. Rehearsal, Jocelyn was meeting with everyone at 3p. Never seen her til 5p. She complained that she needed to get done and out of there because she has 6 different babysitters but struggled this day to get a babysitter. Seemed we were a big inconvenience to her. She said there would be 8 golf carts provided for our elderly guests to get up the steep hill after ceremony. I asked about myself personally because I have a disability and she assured me the golf carts would be there to use. The bride was in a 2nd floor hotel room. I had to walk up 2 flights of stairs. This hotel is not handicapped accessible. The 1st floor air conditioning was not working people did get comped some of their hotel bill, if they still wanted to stay. Was told the bride would be taken down a back way, so not seen before the ceremony. Parents were to be in the room beside the ceremony to meet Joseline at 3:20. I got down the 2 flights of stairs, which was very difficult. I asked the front desk how to get to that room. She said I had to go outside and go down the hill. The bride and bridesmaids also had to go down the hill and some guests, at the ceremony, DID see her prior to the ceremony. Joseline wasn't in the Brides room until 3:20. (Ceremony 3:30) Groom groomsmen got no direction. They were texting the bride with questions. Ceremony was 25 minutes late. After the ceremony, Joseline said the golf carts were ONLY to be used for the bridal party to take pictures on the greens. The groomsmen wanted to use them to get the elderly up the hill, like we were told, but there was no way of starting the carts. Groomsmen family members got their cars to transfer. It started to pour rain we (bridal party and parents) were inside the bldg, waiting for it to slow. Joceline said we couldn't wait there because there was another function going on the next day it needed set up. Had to go up the hill to the hotel and take bridal pics there. Groomsmen ran got their cars and everyone was running in pouring rain. 2 of the Groomsmen were at the hotel when the others got there they asked why the others didn't go through the inside of the building to get there. Why didn't Joceline tell them, especially the bride, to go thru the bldg. The rain stopped right after they got in the hotel. You cant predict the rain, but she could have at least given 5 minutes to see if it slowed down a little bit but she was too worried about the next day's function. Melissa was asked about the bridal party getting their drinks for dinner because the bar would be closing before they got into the reception. She said Joseline was at their disposal she'd get their drinks. She was no where to be found. Guests overheard the other staff asking where she was. The bridal party had water for the toast for dinner. How sad and embarrassing. The dinner was cold. Many guests complained. Plate warmer lids weren't used. Joseline was asked when the cake would be served she said
We enjoyed dining outside on their patio overlooking the golf course! It was a great atmosphere and even better food. Our waitress was super sweet and attentive. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend the Buffalo shrimp and crab cakes
