Contribuiți la feedbackWe stopped at Le Ciaspole on our way to Meran for lunch. It's a cozy place with great views on the montains, very nice staff and great food. Tartare from the deer (Rehtartar) ever eaten before? Other guests were all locals, so it seems to be no tourist trap. We've also had a look at the totally new rooms that are for rent since June this year. Very nice decoration, spacious, modern way of traditional style. Next time we'll stay for one or two nights for sure.
Visiting Val di Non for watching the blooming of the apple trees, we were planning to have also a gourmet travel, knowing that this zone of Trentino has what to offer from a culinary point of view. We arrived at Le Ciaspole thanks to the recommendation of our host, without expecting so much after reading reviews on internet..(the next night we were going to have a dinner at the famous Locanda/Ristorante Alpino of Brez which was a disappointment)..The restaurant is far from everything, and from outside is not seeming a place for gourmet food. We were welcomed in this beautiful warm room were the lighted fireplace, the stufa ole and the presence of antique furniture, were giving such a cosy but still elegant feeling. The mise en place was very much on my taste and the host/waiter/wife of the chef was really nice. The service started with two very welcomed ' 'antipasti ' ' offered by the chef: a beautiful basket of 5 different freshly made warm bread (absolutely amazingly good) accompanied by goat creamy herb cheese and mortandela (local specialty) and a beautiful barley soup with crispy spring vegetables. As entrees we ordered a roe deer tartar with red fruits reduced sauce and a flan of asparagus on a cream of ramson. Both very nice; my fiancee enjoyed very much the tartar which was finely spiced. As a first course we ordered cannelloni filled with potato, lardo (a specialty pig fat) and rosemary on a bed of ragu of lamb. The portions were generous and so beautiful to look at. About the taste I think is something very subjective, but one cannot deny that the food of Le Ciaspole is very good and satisfying, and that the prices are right. As a second, we ordered a beef tenderloin with mustard sauce..this was cooked to perfection, the meat was really melting in the mouth. We also ordered a dessert chocolate lava cake with vanilla icecream and mandarin confit which it was good, but not special. All in all, this restaurant left us very satisfied and we would recommend it to anyone that stays in Val di Non.
We stayed two nights at the hotel and enjoyed breakfast and dinner both nights. What a treat it was. The food was excellent and the service was very personal and attentive. The homemade breads and pastas were delicious and fresh. I believe this was the best restaurant experience we had on our 10 day tour of Italy. Antonella is a great hostess.
Veramente complimenti!
