Exquisite! Every bite was a balance of flavor and texture. Service was on point never leaving you to ask for anything. Rarely do you find a restaurant like this. This is an experience you won't forget.
Antebellum is one of the top 100 restaurants in the US on Open Table and I'm here to say it is well earned. DH took me here for my birthday tonight and everything was amazing. Service was wonderful and our waiter was both informative and enthusiastic aboutthe menu. The restaurant is a converted older Southern home and quite unique. We started with the complimentary cornbread andgreen tomato jam (warm and fresh, very good) and then we had the baked brie appetizer. I love baked brie en croute anyway butthis was next level with the port wine reduction. In between apps and entrees, we had a lovely small butter lettuce salad withgoat cheese and lemon vinaigrette, which was refreshing and flavorful. DH had the halibut entree. He said that it was cookedperfectly and really delicious, but found the seasoned popcorn a bit of a misstep with the textures on the plate. I had thebraised beef bolognese and no exaggeration, it was the best bolognese I've ever had (and I've had some good bolognese). It wasrich, comforting, so many layers of flavor. The house made gnocchi really complemented the sauce and braised beef and thepepadews and goat cheese took it to the next level. DH liked it better than his halibut. For dessert, we had the sticky toffeecake and I thought I was too full to enjoy it but it was so amazing I found room for it anyway. Definitely a must try. As it wasmy birthday, they also brought me a warm skillet cookie with ice cream and a lit candle. A lovely touch. Ambiance, service andfood were stellar. My most sincere compliments to the chef and staff.
Good crowd on a Friday night but they were able to get us in last minute...thank you Stephen! The food here is prepared with extreme attention to detail and each and every bite I took brought on a new wave of pleasure to my taste buds.
The service at Antebellum was on point. Entering the restaurant you are immediately greeted and treated respectfully. The waitress was amazing telling us the specials and the popular entrees. She also came by often to check on us and clean up our table once we were done with each plate. She also set up our table replacing our silverware when we done with a dish. The food at Antebellum was exquisite. I ordered the braised beef bolognese with gnocchi which was delicious considering it was my first time eating gnocchi. My boyfriend ordered the Hopewell Farms Grilled Pork Loin which melted like butter in your mouth. Both entrees were amazing and we would recommend anyone to go and at least try it one time. Although the total for the appetizer, split salad and two entrees came out pricy, the food was worth it.
