Contribuiți la feedbackI had a terrible experience at this restaurant. The owner was incredibly rude. I had called ahead to ask about special dietary needs and was assured it would not be a problem. However, when we inquired about vegetarian options, he was not willing to accommodate us. Additionally, he refused to let us sample any wines, even though they were served by the glass. I will never return to this restaurant. The food was mediocre at best.
The word 'authentic ' is commonly used to describe things but in this instance I can put my hand on my heart and say this is an authentic Italian trattoria. It is small and cosy and as soon as one walks in the door the feeling of being in Italy is real. It was a Monday night and finding any restaurant opened on this day of the week was always going to be a challenge. We got lucky finding Amore. We ordered two large plated entrees of chorizo, stuffed olives with crisp bread and a half metre long bruschetta with 3 different toppings. All was fresh and tasty. For mains we ordered the Linguini with zucchini and prawns, fettuccine with beef ragu, Linguine Allo Scoglio (spaghetti with seafood) and 2 dishes on the specials board. All our meals were magnificently prepared and the tastes were sensational. Portions were considered generous. All staff were helpful and attentive. This restaurant is now licensed. Can highly recommend but one must book to get a table. We will definitely return.
Do not waste your time money. This is the worst food I have ever tried. The place was empty, food was not even warm and no noise/cooking could be heard from the kitchen. Garlic bread was burnt. Chilli mussels had no chilli or garlic just mussels put into a bowl of oil!!! absolutely disgusting. My husbands pasta and meatballs was bland and cold with barely any sauce. When my husband explained and offered to pay for the drinks, garlic bread and half of a meal as we couldn 't even eat it. The owner went crazy, abusing my husband and threatening to call the police/lock him in. Claiming to be an Italian chef. My mother inlaw is a chef and I am Italian, I wouldn 't give this 'food ' to my dog. The oilly mussels made me feel sick for hours.
We stumbled upon Amore and were delighted to discover delicious, authentic Italian cuisine. We have returned multiple times and have thoroughly enjoyed every dish on the menu. The atmosphere is inviting, and the owner adds to the experience by entertaining guests. We highly recommend this restaurant.
This our second visit to this authentic Italian restaurant. An Italian/ Australian family owned restuarant/cafe with great tasting dishes, licensed and with a cheerful and engaging staff all professional and dedicated Italian chefs waiting staff. Be prepared that the owner and chefs break into Italian song when the mood and song playing is right! Fantastico!
