Corbey's Ice Cream Deli - Florala

First of all, let me say that the address on Yelp is incorrect: if you keep driving past what they give you and look on the left, it's right before you get to the turn for Montgomery, AL. We were coming back from PCB and got stuck in that hellish traffic on 331, so by the time we got to Florala, we were starving. I looked on Yelp, hoping that someone would have rated some of the places locally (small town eateries are so very hit or miss), and saw that Corleys had a five star rating. Plus the mention of brisket in the review posted made my husband happy, so it was settled. They have several specialty sandwiches, burgers, smoked brisket and pulled pork and a couple of entrees, with several sides to choose from. My family of four ordered two burgers, with fries and onion rings, turkey sandwich with potato salad and the brisket plate with cole slaw and pasta salad. The burgers were good, but not hand patted like the original review said. They were frozen. The fries looked just like McDonalds and the onion rings were also frozen, but pretty good. My son's turkey sandwich was griddles on Texas toast and the potato salad looked to be homemade. My husband loved his brisket and thought that the pasta salad was good but had way too many red onions in it. Leave room for ice cream! It's not homemade (Blue Bunny- used to be Blue Bell before the listeria scare) but they make their own waffle cones, the smell of which lured us to the counter for our own. There's a good influx of locals in here and it is an awesome spot to stop at on the way to or from the beaches at 30A.

Cute place for lunch or dinner. We had beef brisket sandwich and cheese burger for lunch. Brisket sandwich was superb, nice Smokey flavor. The cheeseburger was homemade patty and cooked to perfection. We are going back later for ice cream sundaes. Great location, near antique stores so you can go in before out after shopping. Great for large groups just call ahead, they cater too. Highly recommend.
