The first thing you see is the takeaway area, followed by a bar and then a section that resembled a 70s seaside cafe, but with a rushed and not-so-quirky feel. We ordered 2 BLTs, a bowl of chips with mushy peas, a glass of white wine, a pint of Guinness, and a glass of tap water. The BLTs were disappointing - the bread was overly toasted and the bacon was sparse. The sides included a small dish of coleslaw and a strange mix of salad. The chips and mushy peas were decent. However, the total came to £33, which we felt was quite expensive considering the quality of the food. We didn't complain as the restaurant was getting busy and we were hungry after our long walk. Just be aware when dining here.
The fish and chips at this restaurant are absolutely delicious! The staff is welcoming and friendly, and the hygiene standards are very good with tables and seats being wiped after customers leave. I hadn't been here in a few years, but this place did not disappoint! I will definitely be back when I'm in East Neuk again.
This place is perfect for drinks and good conversation. It aims to be a versatile spot, serving as a pub, restaurant, and takeaway, and it succeeds in my book. I had a great time chatting at the bar with Ajan and Leslie. Anyone who isn't satisfied with the service needs to venture out more often!
Dog-friendly really did mean dog-friendly here, with our pet given water and ham, and allowed up on the bench as it could be wiped down. Great chips too and knowing we were all so welcome made for a relaxing meal. Really grateful for the great service.
Lovely welcome, quaint bar and excellent food. Gluten free battered smoked haddock was amazing and real chips...yum!! Highly recommended
