North Street Press Club - Farmville

The back patio was amazing at night with lights, trees, and good music. Service was also fast and polite. I enjoyed the food too and would definitely go back. The only slight down side was the scallops were overcooked, but they were still well seasoneddespite being a bit rubbery.

I used to really enjoy the Press Club; it was a refreshing addition to FarmVille. However, I’ve noticed that the quality has declined over time. I don’t want to blame the servers or chefs, as they’re already underpaid and just trying to do their jobs, but the food quality has taken a significant hit. It seems to have dropped from a standard of excellence to that of Applebee's. Typically, I would overlook minor issues, but this has been a consistent problem during my recent visits. I’ve experienced food served on dirty plates, unwashed vegetables, and random fruit tossed in without consideration. Fortunately, I’m not allergic to anything, or that would have been quite a shock. It’s disappointing to see another establishment in town settling for the subpar standards that seem to be pervasive in FarmVille.

There’s nothing more frustrating than visiting a highly-rated restaurant while feeling hungry and thirsty, only to be completely ignored by the hostesses and staff. I was seated right next to the band’s amp and guitar cases, and not a single waiter or waitress came to take my order. After sitting there for 22 minutes feeling silly, I decided to leave. This place is seriously overrated.

We ordered drinks and an appetizer (tuna tartare), which arrived at our table within 10 minutes. Our entrées were served within 15 minutes of placing our order. Our waitress, Teresa B, was easily the best server I’ve encountered in a long time. It's clear that she loves her job. Ward Davis may not be mainstream, but he has written songs for well-known artists like Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard, among others. I’ve seen him perform in large stadiums before, so I was worried that North Street might be too small for his fan base. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that, despite its size, the venue wasn't crowded at all. The crowd that night was diverse and friendly, which is to be expected in a college town like Farmville. In any case, I recommend overlooking the negative comments about this place. If you’re ever in the area, give them a try and see for yourself. I hope you have as great an experience as we did!

Delicious appetizers and entrees! Very nice beer selection. And a free band playing on a Friday night. Very cool place.
