The Fishin' Pig - Farmville

We had a very positive experience at The Fishin' Pig! Our waitress was extremely friendly and attentive. She let my friend sample a beer before ordering it. She took our orders quickly and the food came out fast! I got the Pork BBQ Combo #2, as a sandwich, although I decided midway through the meal to give up on the sandwich and just eat the meat because I wanted to have room for all my delicious sides! The BBQ was good albeit a bit dry and the sides were great. The mac n cheese was super creamy and cheesy, and the collards had a great flavor. I will say it was kind of hard to eat the collards since the leaves were so massive. Needed a knife! The jalapeño cornbread had a nice flavor and they provided a cinnamon butter to go with it which made it taste more like cake! My mom said the fish was excellent. Their tartar sauce was unique and had a good flavor. They have a fun vibe with popular music playing and ample seating. It's very family friendly. They have some cool merch as well and a small selection of bakery items like pies for sale. Definitely a fun spot to go for BBQ in the area! Wouldn't say it is the best BBQ I've had but it was a great spot for dinner as we were passing through Farmville. It's also extremely affordable for a massive portion of food. They gave my mom 50% off her meal for Mother's Day!

I can't really ever complain about TFP, food is usually very good! Husband and I try to try something new each time. We don't get there often but it's a great treat when we do. We did take out this time.. the name on the receipt was Amelia. Name aside she was pleasant and helpful and just made my takeout ordering process simple. She made me aware of the up charge for the extra side I wanted. And she told me the total 2x before getting off the phone . Great customer service !! The BBQ was a bit dryer than I'm used too but it was 630 at night not a deal breaker . Love TFP

Five stars all day. A friend of mine told me to check the spot out. Then I was extremely surprised at how good the food was. I don't know what I was expecting, but in a little college town like Farmville this place shines brightly. I will check out the spot at least a few other times before I leave the area and I do not think that they will disappoint very happy with the meal. Very happy with the service.
