The Stone House And Country Inn

Our reservations for the Thanksgiving buffet were at 4:00 PM. However, when we went through the line, there was a lack of several items: there were no gravies, stuffing, crab cakes, meatballs, shrimp, or even salad. I was told we would have to wait five minutes for the food to be replenished. When the gravy finally came out, it was pale in color and was served on the same plate as the previous offering, which was a golden brown. Unfortunately, it had very little flavor and tasted somewhat fishy. The stuffing was quite disappointing, and the potatoes served were brown and rubbery—definitely something that should have been tossed out. A waitress remarked that we would have received better food if we had arrived on time. But we had a reservation at 4 PM! Shouldn’t we receive the same quality of food as everyone else for $45 per person? Despite the missing items, we tried to make the best of it and ended up laughing; it will make for a funny memory. A shoutout to Peter for being an amazing server!

I've always enjoyed visiting this restaurant, but my last experience was disappointing. I sat on the bar side and had to ask for cutlery. Despite the place not being busy and the kitchen working quickly, I ended up going to the dining room to grab silverware from another table after waiting five minutes. To make matters worse, my sandwich arrived without any mayo. I even followed a busboy into the kitchen to request mayo and ketchup. The waitress didn't come back to our table until she brought the check, even after I had asked her for those condiments. It was definitely a letdown.

We used to enjoy driving out to eat here, as we had never had a bad meal. Unfortunately, our last visit was quite disappointing. The new menu was a letdown, and the food quality was poor. The spinach and artichoke dip was unappetizing—I'd recommend trying the recipe from the back of a Knorr package instead. Everything was overpowered by a heavy presence of Velveeta, which really didn't sit well. The chips provided as a side were also lacking; there weren't many, and most of them were broken pieces. The meals were overpriced and didn't deliver in terms of quality. Usually, the service here is good, but with only three tables in the tavern, it was surprisingly slow this time, and we weren't even offered refills.

Stone House swore our wedding, and the delivery and the food were perfect! Christine, the catering manager, was easy to reach and answered all my questions. She is so friendly and helpful! There were many choices for dishes, and I was completely satisfied with the menu we offered to our guests. Delivery of food was perfect! I will use Stone House on any future occasion and highly recommend it to them!

For a busy Saturday night we were surprised we were seated right away. Our waitress, Kimberly, was phenomenal. Dinner was very good and came to the table quickly. The food was delicious. In fact, we were so pleased that we went back the next day for lunch. As luck would have it, Kimberly was our waitress again. She even remembered our drink preference. Next time we are out that way we will be stopping for sure!
