The Bugle - Fareham

We went to this restaurant for Sunday dinner, but it seems to be more of a locals pub focused on drinking. It was disappointing because we were hoping the new owners would succeed. The first time we visited for Sunday dinner, we were seated on the left side as you enter, while the locals were on the right side near the bar. This time, on Sunday 29/10, we were seated in the bar area near the locals. There was a lively discussion and vaping happening at 3:30 pm, which affected our 90-year-old friend's asthma. We couldn't hear each other talk because a lady near us was talking loudly to others. Additionally, it was cool in there. The food was not as good as our previous Sunday dinner about 6 weeks ago. We are sorry, but we won't be returning unless it's for a night of drinks with music. We wish the owners the best of luck.

The food at this restaurant is amazing and the service is very friendly. The prices are also great value for what you get. The only issue we had was that the tables were a bit sticky. It might be helpful to have some table mats to prevent this.

In July, we stayed for 1 night. After checking out arriving home 70 miles away in Surrey, I later realising that I'd left A belonging in the hotel room..A PHONE CHARGER POSSIBLY A NECKLACE(BUT NOT CERTAIN OF THAT). I phoned the lady told me yes we have found THE CHARGER. I asked if I could pick this up in August, when I'd make a special trip there. INDEED I CAME DOWN in AUG DID BEFOREHAND TRY TO CONFIRM BY PHONE BUT THE HOTEL LANDLINE MOBILE WEREN'T WORKING. I TRIED AN EMAIL, IT GOT REJECTED, THEN I SENT A MESSAGE VIA THE WEBSITE, BUT GOT NO REPLY. AS I'D ALREADY SAID I'D BE DOWN IN AUG, I THOUGHT IT'D BE OK. However, when I went there, although I was told that the lady recalled my phone call, my possessions weren't there for me as promised. Her husband, who was on duty said that more staff would be in in 2 days that they'll know where my stuff is that he would call me. I never received that call or any email. If I was lied to, why? And, it caused me a 140 mile very disappointing round trip. I AM GLAD THOUGH TO RECEIVE A REPLY HERE, EVEN THOUGH IT'S PROMPTED BY MY REVIEW.

Lovely family run business, good beers and great fresh cooked food. With live entertainment most Friday nights . Under new management so come down and help support them. friendly staff and all dogs welcome and kids.

Thoroughly enjoyed our evening participating in the Quiz Night. The curry was delicious. The locals were welcoming and great fun. Great, friendly hosts. Well worth stopping in!!
