Salado - Fairplay

Really good food and service for reasonable prices. Fast, friendly service. Definitely the best place in Fairplay, having tried them all!

Terrific place! Friendly and knowledgeable staff, great food, and a maple/cardamom old fashioned that was outstanding. There also was an ongoing tale of some recently fledged baby robins from a nearby nest that was fascinating for my bird-watching wife. All-around excellent experience.

Great hidden gem off the main road. Indoor and patio seating. Nice menu with specials and happy hour.

We were on vacation and decided to eat at Salado for a nice dinner. All 8 of us were disappointed. A few (of the already limited) entrees were unavailable. The soup of the day was good, but otherwise no one was too pleased with their dinner. I had a salad and was disappointed. It was incredibly small, few toppings, and the dressing tasted off. The mixed drink someone at our table ordered was basically undrinkable. if you are in Fairplay, I'd recommend trying other local restaurants.

We are from out of town and were recommended this place by some locals. We made a reservation, which the table wasn't prepared for us until 15 minutes after the reservation time. When we went, they were out of the pene noodles and short ribs. I believe that is 2 out of maybe 8 or so entrees available. They have very few options on their menu so to be out of two of them was really disappointing. Also were out of the draft beer I ordered. Our entire party ended up settling for appetizers and salads, which were average at best for the cost. The soup we had I will say was pretty good. One alcoholic drink our party ordered was possibly the strongest margarita produced in a restaurant, which I guess is better than the other way but it was pure alcohol. It seems from other reviews we may have caught them on a bad day, but we definitely won't be back for the rest of our stay in Fairplay.
