Contribuiți la feedbackHubby and I have been here lots and it's normally great food and service. This time it was all just kinda average. The person who took our beer and food order was rather indifferent to us being there. The beer I had was good (young American). I had the foghorn burger and hubby had the chicken burger. They were both just ok.
Beer and food - Tick Atmosphere - below par clientele - Ok What more can you expect? It's quality and quantity
When the food arrived, we were disappointed. The onion rings were huge and covered in too much batter, making them greasy and only half were edible. The dipping mayo was overpowering and not enjoyable. The burgers were okay, but my buttermilk chicken burger had over-dressed coleslaw that made it soggy. The fries were undercooked. My wife ordered sweet potato fries which turned out to be the best part of the meal, despite them not being gluten-free as indicated on the menu. The atmosphere had the potential to be nice, but there were a lot of families with kids who were unruly and ignored by their parents. One lady even poured her leftover wine into a Powerade bottle, probably for the next day. Overall, the food and beer were disappointing.
We've been to the Newcastle Foghorn a few times and always enjoyed it. This smaller version in Erina is great, same quality food and a great range of beers and drinks. Music on Sunday arvo made for a relaxing, good service and quality arvo. I would recommend a visit. Portion sizes are perfect order. Ill be back for the Pizza, they looked great. Loved the Roaring 40's hand pump beer.
I have dined at this restaurant about 4 times now and the food quality has been consistently good each time, especially during lunch. I have tried the burgers, Philly cheese steak, and American-style hot wings, which are all delicious. However, the blue cheese sauce that comes with the hot wings has varied in the amount of blue cheese and how well it is mixed in. The last time I found it to be a bit overpowering for my taste. Despite this, I still recommend visiting this establishment as the food is simple yet flavorful. Personally, I am not a fan of the Craft beer selection, as I prefer pale ales and Pacific ales. However, I did enjoy a beer they had for Halloween called Jumping Jack Mash, which had pumpkin in it.
