We were a group of 6 who enjoyed a decent meal at the Sunken Monkey last Friday night, which was a very uncomfortable 40 degrees outside. The room was nicely air conditioned and we received excellent service from staff behind the bar and bistro. The food was of good quality (I chose the Crispy Duck Salad special) but I think a tad too expensive for the quality/size of meal you get in return. The room did lack a certain atmosphere, though this could be because there were very few patrons on the night to make it more lively.

Have eaten at both restaurants. Food was fantastic, been back a couple times. Staff are very friendly. Love the location next to the river. Have bands on weekends, TAB section. Definitely a new favourite. Great wine selection.

I have taken my family to the Sunken Monkey a few times now and have not been disappointed ...... The weekend was the first time taking my little son with us , staff gave him a colour pack and a high chair was readily available even though we had not made a booking , the manager was beautiful and most friendly when arranging tables to accommodate us due to being busy .I ordered the pork belly salad and it was amazing , a generous size and beautiful flavours .The 6 of us all ate our meals and had no complaints , the kids really enjoyed the outside area and looking at all the fish in the water , beautiful on a sunny day !Overall service was awesome ,even on busy occasions the wait wasn't long for drinks or desert , staff have always been friendly . Can not fault the Sunken Monkey and glad to have finally found an all ages family friendly place to drink and dine out of the norm clubs and RSL's .
