Contribuiți la feedbackHead waitrerss was named Helen and she was really bad mannered...she sang at our table as she attended us.....when we arrived she arrived immediately to take our order and was dissapointed when we asked for a few more minutes,,,when she retiurned she said in a sarcastic tone of voice 'well have you now decided '.......really bad service. She was so bad that i started to be extra nice to her in order to get around her personal handg ups....she kept coming back to the table with bottles of sparkling water withoutout even asking us if we wanted another bottle. food was terrible and we were so hungry we had to eat again when we went home due to small portions....despite having three courses. staff need training as they all seem lacking and the organisation needs to start giving more food and serving vegitables. I ordered serloin steak and it came out with two tiny spoons of mask and one half tomato....laugh out loud. paid 250 euro for a terrible meal and will not go back there.....in the past we have spent a lot of money there but it was the Ritz and we used to stay overnight etc...now its laughable. (my wife agreed with my comments and about the food portions.
I had lunch here recently with my family. I had high expectations as I had previously eaten there, and the food and service had been excellent. The setting is also lovely. Unfortunately, this experience fell short of my previous ones. The service was slow, and there were a couple of mistakes with our food and drinks orders. The staff were pleasant though and the food was nice. There was one further error, but a manager advised us that there would be no charge for that item. I would just expect better service in a venue such as Powerscourt Hotel.
We absolutely loved the Powerscourt Hotel so wanted to love Sika. Unfortunately, the dinner fell short. Service felt rushed from the moment we sat down. Our server wanted us to order immediately but we said we wanted to have a drink first. She said she would pace the meal, but our appetizers arrived prior to our pre-dinner cocktail which was disappointing since we noted that we wanted to relax with a cocktail before dinner. When the cocktails did come they were well presented. The only complaint was the dirty martini wasn 't 'dirty ' at all. Gin and tonics were great and nicely presented. The menu selections looked fabulous. The highlight were the appetizers (I had the pea soup as all were very good. The presentation of the appetizers in particular was on point and definitely fine dining. Taste was delicious as well. However, the entrees and deserts were only average. The side dishes were almost tasteless. Beef was way overcooked. Sauces were 'meh. Fish was good but nothing spectacular. Potatoes were tasteless (but I liked the presentation. Nothing was bad but nothing was good. It was disappointing since so many people write that the food is out of this world and amazing . That just wasn 't our experience at all. The manager visited our table twice and was warm and welcoming. We didn 't mention the food since there really wasn 't anything to do about it. How do you say this is just average and expect things to change on the spot? All in all it was a nice dinner but nothing that would draw me back again. It 's a shame because that was the only negative to our entire stay at the Powerscourt Hotel.
We set a reservation for Sika to follow our Wicklow Way hiking trip. We spent a few lovely hours at the Powerscourt Gardens and Distillery. We then walked to the Powerscourt Hotel, just a few minutes away. It was breathtakingly beautiful inside, as was the restaurant. The view from the Sika terrace was spectacular and the service was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our attendant, Elodie. She was a lovely young Irish ambassador and provided local recommendations. The meal was delicious. A highlight of the trip, our day at Powerscourt and lunch at Sika were outstanding.
Brilliant dinner. The staff were very friendly and efficient. They were courteous and unobtrusive. The whole experience was relaxed and pleasant. The food was spectacularly tasty. The starters were about the right portion the pork belly was tasty. The main course was lamb and was cooked beautifully. The deserts were to tie for. Would highly recommend this restaurant. It is in a hotel but it surpasses most hotel restaurants. Ideal for both a special occasion as well as a relaxed meal! Highly, highly recommended!
