Gilbert's Kitchen - Elgin

This is the best Chinese food around! Seriously, I'm not joking. There’s no indoor seating; it’s just a takeout place. If you let them know you’re eating in your car, they’ll even provide utensils. I absolutely love this spot. The roasted rice is amazing, and the crab Rangoon is delicious! All the soups are fantastic, and the Mongolian beef sets the standard for others. The General Tso's chicken is brilliant and reminds me of orange chicken. I could rave about this place endlessly. It’s a cozy little hole-in-the-wall, but it’s exceptionally clean. The prices are very reasonable, and the portions are generous. The staff is super friendly, and my food stays hot! We drove an hour to get there, and when we sat down to eat, the food was still steaming. If you're ever in the area and crave hot, delicious Chinese food, I highly recommend this place!

This might just be the best Chinese restaurant in modern history. There aren't enough stars on Google Maps to adequately rate this place. If I had to choose between a heavenly feast and a cardboard box of Gilbert's BBQ pork, I'd pick the rice without hesitation. Next up is Cozy Inn Chinese in Janesville, Wisconsin.

Gilbert’s Kitchen aka Gilbert’s Chop Suey is the best Chinese! I honestly recommend getting nothing but her Jumbo egg rolls with her sweet sauce! It is always better than a linker for whatever reason! But the stuff hits!

I've been coming to this restaurant for years. Even after moving about 30 miles away, it's still my favorite spot for Mongolian beef! I highly recommend it to anyone.
