Tacos El Brother Mexican Grill - El Rio

I 'm vegetarian and asked if they could make me a vegetarian torta. They were happy to accommodate...and very carefully went through what I wanted on it. The torta was perfect--exactly what I asked for. And delicious! My daughter (the only vegetarian Mexican who hates beans! wanted just a rice and cheese burrito. They were super flexible and hospitable. I lived in Mexico for 10 years. This place is very authentic (burritos are Californian, not Mexican! ...caldos, chilaquiles, tortas, fresh-made tortilla chips, real guacamole, Jarritos sodas. Highly recommended. Bathroom was out of order (hence 4 stars for atmosphere .Vegetarian options: Happy to make alterations accommodate plant-based guests. I ordered online and got 2 quesabirria tacos. They were not worth $23. They had no flavor at all. If you want some real, good quesabirria tacos head over to tacos el Diablo.

Chicken pozole is delicious and perfect for them cold days. The Alpastor tacos are good and served on a fresh hand made tortillla.

Pretty good food, they are identical to Carnitas el Brother in Port Hueneme. However, chips are not complimentary like at Carnitas El Brother.Pozole Verde is very delicious!! Horchata is great! Flautas are delish!! Carnitas are yummy. I thought $4.99 for chips and salsa (just a spicy salsa roja) was excessive. Especially when their sister location… err Brother location in Hueneme offers them for free.
