Antonelli's Deli - El Cajon

This is an update to my previous review. The cook was making our sandwich without wearing a mask during COVID. I brought this to the manager's attention, but once he stepped away, she took off her mask and continued to prepare our food. We filed a complaint and asked for a refund, which the manager issued politely. We have not returned since.

This is the best sub sandwich I've ever had. They are enormous! While they may not be the standard “footlong” length, they are 2 to 3 times wider than the usual ones. The bread was fantastic, and the whole sandwich was just amazing. My only slight issue is that there was a bit of a wait, about 10 to 15 minutes, for them to prepare the sandwich. I'm not sure if they were particularly busy at the time or if this wait is typical, but the sandwich was definitely worth it!

WAY TOO EXPENSIVE. If the prices were around two-thirds of what they currently are, they would be more reasonable.

The Pastrami sandwich was SO good. Definitely recommend it, no tomato nor sour cream because it would overpower the flavor of the pastrami. The roasted beef was good.

I've only ever had the breakfast sandwiches from here but they are delicious. One of the stand out things is the bread rolls they use. They are firm but melt away in the mouth. It's really good stuff. It's all made fresh to order which is always nice and the prices still seem somewhat reasonable.
