Panciteria de Manila is a hole-in-the-wall in a dodgy neighbourhood. Furnishings, decor and ambience are mid-20th century Prairie diner. The redeeming features are the food and friendly service. The food is basic but tasty - mostly noodles or rice with meat and vegetables. Nothing fancy but it's all home-cooked and fresh. Nice flavours of the Philippines.Great for lunch, quiet in the evening.
Had a great time and enjoyed great food. Nothin extremely fancy but very tasty and filling dishes. I had the rice with pork and a very nice fried egg. Try the red horse beer. Filipino beer very enjoyable. Looks like they have a great karaoke set up as well. Go here for sure and have a awesome different meal with great friendly service!!!
If you're desperate for Filipino food, go here. Otherwise, don't waste your time. Ordered fresh spring roll (lumpiang sariwa), pancit bihon and bangsilog (milk fish, egg and fried rice). Lumpiang sariwa was maybe 3 to 4 out of 10 at best, pancit was a joke and milk fish was tiny and rice was basically soy sauce on steamed rice. The pancit was softened rice noodles tossed in soy sauce. Absolutely tasteless! And...what's up with the paper plates and cutlery? Isn't this a sit down restaurant or a food court? You won't even find this in the Philippines unless it's street food...really! Honestly, if you want Filipino or Asian food, I don't recommend this place. Go to the mall food court and you'll have better food. The only reason for the 2 out of 4 rating is because the host was very pleasant. Food was 1 out of 5. It's interesting and ironic that this place is called "panciteria" while they're pancit was the worst.
My first visit last June just ordered for take out, I'm running out of my departure time. My 2nd visit was August and i stay and eat. I like my food that I've ordered. People there are nice too.
Went here out of curiosity. Have tried a lot of Pilipino Restaurants. This one just made it to OK. Not bad food but not great either. I did not like the self serve option like you line up for food, kinda like in mcdonalds, wait for it and u bring it to ur table. Food is serve in paper plates, i was a bit confused about that part. Serving is tiny. Options are limitted. Probably wont be back. Basic Tapsilog (not hard to make at all) did not taste that good. The lomi soup wqs so basic. pansit is ok.
