OTTO Food and Drink - Edmonton

NOM. This place is awesome. Be prepared to meet new people at communal seating. Small neighborhood place with excellent sausage. Service is quick and the drink selection is awesome. Owner hangs out and engages with customers. Quite a lovely experience!

This is my neighbourhood restaurant and as its main entree is sausages that it would get boring. But not so, they often have new sausages as specials and the beef bratwurst is so good that it's hard to get tired of it. Their fries are excellent, crispy and they taste like potatoes. Their beer selection is mostly from local micro - brews. I love the fact that if you go with a group the food is served on a platter so you can try all the sausage selections.

I came here with my mom, her fiance, and his friend before going to the Cirque show the other night. My mom's fiance knows the owner, and it's a place we've wanted to try for a while. I'm not a beer drinker, but if you are, you've come to the right place. The owner is super knowledgeable about the beers and was happy to provide samplers to our table. There is a selection of wine and cocktails for us non-beer drinkers out there. We ate family style, so we all picked a sausage that we wanted to try and then ordered a bunch of sides to share. We ordered the OTTO dog, the chorizo, the chipotle cheddar that was on special, and the one vegan sausage that was on the menu for our vegetarian at the table. Our sides were the beet salad, the house salad, the fries, and the mac and cheese. We also started with the fish and potato croquettes. I have to say that everything was delicious, but I think the fries were the best. They were tossed in melted butter and herbs and were so crispy. And the fish and potato croquettes were a standout too. The service was quick and friendly and it's a perfect little hangout that I would come back to again. It's a nice simple menu with unpretentious food!

We were 3 hungry adults so a lovely quiet table. The rest of this tiny space was filled with happy lovely families , it was early! There's even a play area. The beers were all wonderful craft beers. The menu is all sausages so sharing is a must! We had 3 all so good. Big player with a beef brot made with Alberta beef and Silvan Lake Gouda, Turkish, & Hot dog! Fries and slaw. Not a crum was left. The front garage door was open to the street so it was sunny and probably our first real summer night. Can't wait to return, sausage menu changes often and different sides appear, the Mac and cheese looks wonderful.

We had a group of 10 (ages 14years - 57 years) for dinner on a Thursday evening. Thankfully I called ahead for a reservation, they were very accommodating and fit us in. We tried a lot of everything and EVERYTHING was DELICIOUS! The Beet Salad, Potato Salad, Mac n Cheese (amazing), Fries, Coleslaw, Fish croquettes, Otto sausage, Bratwurst, Chicken Sausage, The Mexican sausage (has cilantro but I forget the name of it), my daughter is a vegetarian and they even had a vegetarian sausage for her. She loved it and was convinced some one was fooling her and gave her meat, that's how good it was. We have some fussy eaters in our family and everything we had was great and we ALL left with full, happy tummies. We had Alley Kat beer. Mine had a grapefruit taste to it, it was awesome. Also the atmosphere was great. It was a beautiful evening and the big door was open and the restaurant was very busy. A couple of times they were lined up. Our service was great too. Very personal and quick. We had a family birthday and brought a cake and left a piece for the owner, (who also has a birthday coming up) and for our server. Also VERY CLEAN! Highly recommend it. Will go back again and again and AGAIN! Super great to see someone having an idea, taking a risk and doing well! Congrats you've hit it out of the park!
