Contribuiți la feedbackMy Daughter and I had a Great Lunch with some Delicious food that we enjoy very much! We hope to be back for sure ! ???? Thank you!
I was asked to meet at this location for lunch. I hadn’t heard of it before and from the outside it doesn't look special. It seems like just a coffee shop with a small kids play area (great for daytime parents with small kids who want to meet). But the menu came and I was shocked to see a full menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Actual menu of real quality food! Service was great and friendly. Food was good. Coffee was not the best, but everything else was a great surprise. I will be going back in the future.
This was a disappointing first visit to Juniper Cafe. I had chosen this spot as a meeting place with a friend because it's known to be kid-friendly and I had a toddler in tow. When I arrived, with baby in arms, the place was busy but I noticed a few tables open. I was unsure if i had to be wait to be seated so I stood in plain view to see if someone would approach me but no one even bothered making eye contact. So I trudged further in to the bakery counter to wait for someone to acknowledge me. No one did. I had to physically interrupt two staff members talking to ask if it was self seating to which they said it was.So I walked over to the first empty table to see a "reserved" sign atop. Then over to the other two tables and same thing.Fine. I waited patiently back near the entranceway with "heavy" toddler still in arms. Luckily the table close to me ended up leaving soon after. My friend arrived and I had already grabbed one of the high chairs at the back for my baby to sit in. We realized we didn't have any menus on the table and no one offered to bring us some. So after more waiting and trying to get staff attention, we managed to get two delivered to our table. Then we had to go up to order at the til. Fine unless the line up is 10 people deep and one person taking orders and payment. Needless to say the wait was also long just to place an order. We had missed the cutoff time for breakfast apparently so lunch menus were the only option by the time we placed orders around noon.I ordered the green curry bowl with naan bread for $12. It was extremely disappointing. The taste of the green curry was completely watery with basically no creaminess to offset the heat. So basically it was a spicy watery sauce with no complexity served over pieces of broccoli, bok choy, and zucchini. Worst green curry in my life!No one came to check on on us. Two times we had servers approach us asking if we ordered whatever drinks they had in hand. Which we hadn't. So lots of confusion on their part and lack of customer service.Although this place is kid- friendly in that there is a small play area in the back corner for kids to enjoy, I would not come back to this cafe due to poor food and poor service. Very disappointing all in all
I was visiting family in Edmonton and we decided we would go out for dinner at Juniper. It was not very busy that evening probably because of it being a long weekend. The food was very good - the steak sandwich looked incredible, as was the soup of the day and bison shortrib main. Food is very well priced as is their small but good wine list. I had a piece of angel food cake (homemade) for dessert - served with marinated berries....lovely. Nice ambience. I must come back and try the handheld Bennie.
Set in a small, out of the way strip mall, this former bar is now a cosy nieghbourhhod casually informal yet elegant restaurant. Wisely chosing to offer a limited menu, Juniper's proprieters send forth from their kitchen by way of friendly staff, interesting, tasty, savoury, and beautiful dishes for the 30 or so assembled guests.
