Contribuiți la feedbackI ordered a few things for take out to try a new place. I went with miso soup, tempura shrimp, rainbow roll, and the sunset roll. Everything tasted good and the fish was quite fresh. The soup was rich with not too much seaweed or tofu to take away from the broth. The rolls were larger than what I was expecting which was a happy surprise. My only issues were the rolls were slightly rice heavy, but that wasn't a major issue for me. And that the rainbow roll only had shrimp as a topper when I was hoping for more variation. The sunset roll was a great alternative to raw for those that don't like raw fish, but still like seafood. It is nice to know that there are a few tasty options for my pals who don't like raw. There is ample parking and a cozy, intimate atmosphere for those who want to dine in.
We went there for a family celebration. It was middle of the week and the place was empty from dining in customers however we felt the kitchen was really prepared, everything we ordered from the AYCE menu was available, the variety was great, the sushi tasted so fresh, the sashimi was amazing also everything else we tried was so nice. The service was super nice and the prices were reasonable. Everyone left so happy and will be back again for sure.
I 've never seen such small scraps served as sashimi (which, by the way, is limited to 15 pieces), and such little effort put into making rolls look presentable, let alone appetizing. In terms of taste, things were average at best for the approximate cost of $50 per person. We went with Hibachi because of the positive reviews.Without exaggerating, the pieces of sashimi that we were served were the smallest I 've seen ever. They were so thin that you could see through them. Honestly, each piece looked like an offcut scrap. Obviously the texture as a result was not good, nor the taste. I get that food costs have increased, but that may explain the stringent limit on pieces of sashimi you can order. I don 't think you can both limit quantity AND serve unacceptably small pieces and charge so much. The piece of mackerel that came with the nigiri was so small, it didn 't even cover half the huge lump of rice it came with. The other dishes didn 't fare much better. The audacity of the chef to include a single thin piece of unagi for a whole cone!! That 's like a 90% rice ratio. My fish roe cone had less than a teaspoon of filling. The unprofessional presentation of the pieces of fish on top of rolls looked like they took a thin piece of fish and stretched it so that it 'd cover the majority of the roll. Chop scallop nigiri that looked quite nice actually, but was mostly rice with lots of rice vinegar so much so that you could really only taste the vinegar. At this point in the meal, we were impressed with the large pieces of unagi on top of the nigiri. In reality, they were standard sized pieces, but within our context, they felt very generous.
The food was average at best, bordering on below average. However, the staff was excellent! The bartender/waitress on Friday night, June 23rd, was fantastic, extremely friendly, and delightful. Despite Google listing it as a sushi restaurant, it is actually just a bar serving mediocre Mexican food. Overall, I would give the food a 2 out of 5 rating.
This restaurant's Google listing needs an update as it is no longer a sushi/Japanese restaurant. Many reviews do not reflect the new menu and should be removed to accurately represent the current offerings. The establishment is now more of a "bar" with over 20 items on the menu, although most are not traditional grill or bar items. Renovations are still ongoing and the interior is not yet complete, which should ideally be finished before opening for dining. There are some kinks to work out, but there is potential for this spot to become a popular destination in the future.
