We were exploring Lowther and the surrounding area and were pleasantly surprised by how close this charming little village is. The staff at The Punchbowl were very friendly, our room was excellent, and the food was absolutely delicious! It was a refreshing change to find a place where we didn't feel like we were being taken advantage of or like the staff couldn't be bothered. Our room was immaculately clean, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was great. We decided to have dinner at The Punchbowl and it was so tasty that we couldn't finish it all! The Lamb Henry and Cumberland Chicken were exceptional and cooked to perfection. Breakfast the next morning was also amazing and served by incredibly friendly staff. It really set us up for the day ahead. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing stay in the Lakes away from the crowds. You won't be disappointed!
This hidden gem in a remote location was a fantastic discovery. We had a wonderful Sunday lunch, with portions so generous that they could easily be halved and still be worth every penny. Our bedroom was impeccably clean, spacious, and surprisingly affordable. The staff were all very welcoming and accommodating. The only minor improvements needed are some touch-ups on the paint in the hallways and a mattress replacement, as it seemed a bit worn out.
This charming and cozy pub offers a warm and inviting atmosphere. The waitstaff is very attentive, and the cozy log burner adds to the ambiance. The food is delicious and they are great at accommodating gluten-free dietary restrictions. As a person with celiac disease, I felt very well taken care of and at ease while dining here.
Stopped in the Punchbowl Inn for a short break in Cumbria and couldn't have been more impressed. the staff, especially Johnny were very attentive and couldn't do enough for us. The room was lovely and the breakfast was fantastic. I would absolutely recommend the Punchbowl if you are thinking of the lakes and want something away from the hustle and bustle of the usual lakeland towns.
Wonderful friendly staff, great atmosphere and the food is excellent . Their Sunday Lunch is delicious
