Headlands Family Restaurant And Cafe Bar

The early Christmas lunch was outstanding, with delicious freshly cooked food, friendly service, and an amazing location.

The Headlands offers a decent quality breakfast that I enjoyed. The bacon was very nice and the fried egg was cooked perfectly. However, I was disappointed that there were no optional extras like black pudding or hash browns, and all breakfasts came with chips which I prefer not to have in the morning. The tables were not completely clean when we arrived, with brown sauce left on the menu and table. Some staff appeared to be less attentive than others, particularly one girl who seemed uninterested. Another point to mention is that many people brought their dogs with them. While I don't mind dogs in pubs if they are well-behaved, I feel that in a cafe setting for breakfast, dogs should be in a separate area or not allowed at all.

During our stay at a holiday rental just 100 yards from the Headlands Restaurant and Cafe Bar, we decided to stop in for lunch one afternoon. The service was decent and the food was satisfactory, but the setup was more akin to a cafeteria style operation. There was no table service; instead, customers had to order their drinks and food at a counter and receive a ticket with their number. While this setup isn't really my preference, I can see why they have it, considering the large number of visitors they likely receive, particularly lighthouse and bird watchers. The prices were reasonable, not overly expensive but not cheap either. However, I was disappointed by the small portion size of the gammon steak, though the chips were quite enjoyable.

Good spot for some quick food with a good view. Reasonably priced and the food was good just quite basic. The service was very quick I think from the time it took from ordering the food was with us in 5 minutes. Views are great, it wasn't too busy when we went but can imagine it gets filled up quickly as seemed to be popular.

We went for lunch last Sunday. The restaurant was very busy with people queuing out of the door but we were served quickly and the haddock and chips we had was really tasty.
