World Bean - EAST ELMHURST

I give this restaurant 5 stars for their espresso and service. While I can't comment on the baked goods, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the espresso—it's not what you usually expect from an airport coffee shop. They also offer fresh fruits and have a convenient area with snacks and cardboard items.

I was truly impressed by the pastries I picked up here before my flight. I had banana bread, a cinnamon roll, and a cheddar scone. The banana bread was delightful; it used real bananas and was wonderfully moist. It was flavorful and delicious, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The cinnamon roll was made with croissant dough, which was a surprise, but it was also tasty and light, though it was a bit on the sweet side. The cheddar scone had a solid texture but remained moist, with a strong cheese flavor, albeit slightly salty. All of this, including two slices of banana bread (with each for the others), came to about $13. While it is definitely on the expensive side, it's airport food, so that's to be expected.
